Friday Varia and Random Notes
Just a few quick things this cold Friday morning.;
First, a new member of the blogosphere: The Blog at the Graduate School of the University of North Dakota. This is my wife’s invention and it seeks to be:
“a place for information, updates, dialogue and other fun and newsworthy items that relate to graduate education. We hope to engage you in discussions on a variety of topics and to be informative. In addition to topics relating to our own Graduate School at the University of North Dakota, we will post items of national interest in graduate education, events, conferences and more.”
According to my inside sources, the first week up and running has proven the value of this kind of outlet for an organization like UND’s Graduate School. They have received a constant flow of traffic and had hits from all over the world.
Next, here are two blogs that have recently become part of my weekly reading list: Antiquated Vagaries has continued the tradition of blogging from the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. It’s been a cool way to look in on the day-to-day (trip-to-trip) activities of the Regular Members. Another blog that consistently has interesting things is Diana Wright’s Surprised by Time. It has a nice blend of musing about Greece.
Finally, Wordle is a great waste of time. Now I have pictures of my recent posts:
And my The Blog at the Graduate School of the University of North Dakota (in UND’s officially approved web site colors, of course!)
Have a good weekend and cheer on on those Spiders as they play that evil team from William and Mary for the 118th time (that’s the 4th oldest in Division 1 and the 8th longest running rivalry in college football)!.
